Dan Quinn, Psy.D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CA23350) (OR2027)

Office in Ashland, Oregon. Zoom sessions throughout California and Oregon.

Dan specializes in depth psychotherapy. He has spent many years studying a multitude of therapy techniques, including Jungian, relational psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, solution-focused, and Internal Family Systems. He draws from all of them, depending upon the needs of the client at a particular point in the process.

Dan supervised the therapy and research of doctoral students at The Wright Institute, in Berkeley, where he also taught a number of different topics in psychotherapy theory, team and group dynamics, and psychological research methods. He was certified as a Positive Psychology coach after studying with its founder, Dr. Martin Seligman, and has 35 years of experience in the corporate arena and was the CEO of a highly successful technology consulting firm. He’s consulted to C-level leaders in a number of different business lines such as healthcare, manufacturing, software development, and telecom, including Kaiser Permanente, a number of Sutter Health hospitals, Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Mitsubishi Electronics, and several startups, including Smart911 (successfully sold to Rave Wireless).

Dan’s couples therapy and workplace relationship coaching are primarily informed by the extraordinary, highly practical research of Dr. John Gottman, and the empirically-supported Emotion-Focused work of Dr. Susan Johnson. His work is shaped the most by his own years of individual therapy, as well as extensive couples therapy with his wife of 40 years.

Dan is one of the most thoughtful, compassionate, analytic and creative thinkers I’ve come to know”.   Gilbert Newman, Ph.D., Dean, The Wright Institute
